Pediatric Renal Tumor Biology Meeting

Dear colleagues,

We are delighted to announce that the 13th International Paediatric Renal Tumours Biology Conference will be held onthe 11th-13th October 2026 at the Francis Crick Institute in London, hosted by the UK Renal Tumour UMBRELLA PLUS team in collaboration with the International Society of Paediatric Oncology Renal Tumour Study Group (SIOP-RTSG) and the North American Children's Oncology Group’s Renal Tumour Committee (COG-RTC).

Following excellent meetings in New York (2024) and Marseille (2022), the conference returns to Europe with the same ambition that has defined this meeting for over two decades: to bring together the global community of researchers and clinicians working on childhood kidney cancer and to translate that expertise into the collaborations and studies that will define the next generation of clinical care.

Why attend?

This is the only meeting dedicated specifically to the biology of paediatric renal tumours, and brings together the full breadthof the research field - from basic scientists working on the fundamental biology of these diseases, through translational researchers developing new tools and approaches, to the clinicians designing and running the treatment protocols and early-phase trials. Whether you are an established investigator or just beginning to work in this area, our programme is designed with you in mind:

  • Day 1 half-day education session - covering the foundations of renal embryology, tumour biology and next generation molecular technologies, providing essential context for the research discussions that follow
  • Expert keynotes from leaders in the field - spanning molecular evolution, single-cell biology, risk stratification, liquidbiopsy, AI/machine learning, and developmental therapeutics, including dedicated days for Wilms and non-Wilms tumours
  • Interactive workshops and open discussion - consistently the most valued element of previous meetings, providing real space for the kind of rigorous, disease-specific debate that larger conferences simply cannot offer
  • Networking and collaboration - with the researchers and clinicians at the forefront of major paediatric renal tumour study design and implementation worldwide, across both SIOP and COG

Registration & Abstract Submission

Online registration will open shortly; details and links will be circulated in a follow-up email.

In the meantime, we welcome abstracts from across the spectrum of paediatric renal tumour research - molecular biology, genomics, immunology, liquid biopsy, preclinical models, biomarker discovery, and translational studies. Submission deadline will be 29th May 2026. Selected abstracts will be presented as oral or poster presentations, with dedicated discussion time built into the programme. Prizes will be awarded for the best oral and poster presentations.

We are excited to share the abstract submission link which is now open:

We very much look forward to welcoming you to London. If you have questions or would like to discuss the programme, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

With best wishes,

Dr Tanzina Chowdhury, Professor Sam Behjati, Dr Jonny Kennedy, Ms Reem Al-Saadi (Local Organising Committee)

Also on behalf of:

Dr Andrew Hong (Renal Tumour Biology Chair, COG) and Dr Daniella Perotti (Renal Tumour Biology Chair, RTSG), and colleagues of both International Renal Tumour Biology Groups
